Our Story
Dalda Farms was founded in early 2025 to bring a new strawberry to the table

agriculture is our life
with 20+ years in the orchid industry, we now venture into strawberries.
A modern day Minari
Minari is a tender and poignant film about a Korean-American family chasing their version of the American dream in rural 1980s Arkansas—navigating cultural identity, hardship, and hope.
In many ways, our story isn’t so different.
With dreams of a brighter future and a name of our own, our family emigrated from Korea to a small town in rural Santa Barbara County in 2003, where we planted the seeds of a new life—starting with an orchid nursery. Faced with the challenges of a new language, unfamiliar land, and uncertain beginnings, we discovered strength in the one thing that never wavered: the power of family and the kindness of new friends. Over time, this once-foreign soil became something more—it became home.
For the past 20 years, our quiet farm in Los Alamos, California—just an hour north of Santa Barbara—has been devoted to cultivating beauty. Specializing in cymbidiums and lovingly growing dendrobiums, oncidiums, phalaenopsis, and kingianums, we’ve made orchids not just our business, but our craft.
From Orchids to Strawberries
After specializing in orchids on our farm for the past 20 years, we decided to add something new; something our knowledge of greenhouses and horticulture can benefit from. Gourmet Korean strawberries were the perfect fruit for our farm.
Difference for all to Taste
What began as a fun project for family and friends, grew into the dream of wanting everyone to taste. The incredible aroma and flavor of our strawberries surprised everyone around us, incomparable to strawberries of known. “Everyone needs to taste the difference,” brought us to this point. Reluctantly downsizing our orchid acreage, we have since increased strawberry production to half of our farm. We dream of everyone tasting and enjoying our specialty berries saying, “THIS is a strawberry!”
